Elliott's Wholesale Nursery has 25 acres in container production and is situated in Amberley, 50kms north of Christchurch. It was established on this site in 1980. Originally the Nursery solely supplied ornamental plants for the Retail Garden Centre trade. In 1996 the Nursery diversified into the production of Olive trees for the commercial olive grove industry. Recently this has also lead to the production of Feijoa trees for the commercial fruit market. Some research has also been done in the research of Pistachio Trees for commercial nut production. The Nursery maintains a small trial block for the testing and research of commercial feijoa, olive and pistachio production. |
