For more than 45 years, Elliott’s Wholesale Nursery has been growing quality plants for New Zealand gardens and landscapes. Located just 40 kilometres north of Christchurch in Amberley, our 25-acre nursery is home to extensive growing facilities including tunnel houses, shade houses, potting and propagation areas, open-ground production blocks, and a central dispatch hub that keeps plants moving efficiently across the country.
Owned and operated by Jeff and Caroline Elliott, the nursery combines decades of horticultural expertise with a commitment to innovation. Jeff's passion for plant production and problem-solving has driven continual improvements in growing systems and nursery operations, while Caroline's focus on people and relationships ensures exceptional service for customers and a supportive environment for staff. Together, they have built a business that values quality, efficiency, and continuous learning.

Today, Elliott’s employs a team of around 30 dedicated staff, bringing together experienced horticultural professionals and those beginning their careers in the industry. It is a collaborative workplace where knowledge is shared, new ideas are encouraged, and everyone plays a role in producing plants to the highest standard.
Since its beginnings in 1980, the nursery has evolved alongside the horticultural industry. While ornamental plants formed the foundation of the business, Elliott’s has successfully grown a range of crops over the years, including olives and feijoas, which remain popular today. Jeff’s long-standing passion for rhododendrons continues to see thousands propagated and grown each year.
Today, Elliott’s Wholesale Nursery specialises in supplying quality plants to nurseries, garden centres, landscapers, and commercial projects throughout New Zealand, earning a reputation for reliability, innovation, and exceptional plant quality.
